Drums
Simon Wright

Hailing from Oldham, Lancashire, Great Britain, Simon Wright started playing drums at age 13 and began his career with the Manchester band, Tora Tora.

At 20 years old he replaced Phil Rudd as the drummer for AC/DC and went on to play on three of their albums, “Fly on the Wall”, “Who Made Who” and “Blow up your Video”.

In 1989, he left AC/DC to Join Dio where he recorded four studio albums, “Lock Up the Wolves”, “Magica”, “Killing the Dragon” and “Master of the Moon” and two live albums.

In 2013, he joined Jeff Tate’s version of Queensryche, later known as Operation Mindcrime.

On July 18, 2015, Simon joined Heaven & Earth to play The Vasby Festival in Sweden and in 2019 when Lynn Sorensen and Stuart Smith regrouped to record Heaven & Earth ‘V’ they felt the natural choice would be to bring Wright into the fold. As well as playing drums on the new H&E album, Simon was very instrumental in the writing process.
