George Barabas


George Barabas has been playing keyboards since 1993. As a kid he played in garage bands through the high school years in his hometown Bonyhád, Hungary. When he got Deep Purple’s “Come Hell or High Water LIVE” concert video from a guitarist friend, Ferenc Cseke. After seeing Jon Lord’s incredible performance, he finally decided what kind of music he’d like to play. George is also a big fan of progressive rock and metal music.

In 1999, he founded an instrumental prog rock band called Station X with his brother Péter Barabás on bass, Ferenc Cseke on guitars and Zoltán Hajas on guitars. They made four albums, and it was a known group in the Hungarian underground prog scene in the 2000s.

From 2008 , George started playing in several music projects and was a guest keyboardist on Diana Rauch’s first solo album, Avi Rosenfeld’s Very Heepy Very Purple I-IX albums, he also played live concerts in Hungary with different bands as a session keyboard player. He’s also known as a virtual musician.

Since 2009, he has played together in collaboration projects with Rachel Flowers, Jan Akkerman, Jake Livgren, Jerome Mazza, Adam Antal, Attila Scholtz, Mihály Tunkli and many others.

He’s also a fan of Heaven & Earth since their debut album. So, to him being a member of this band is something that every fan could dream of. His biggest keyboard heroes were Jon Lord, Tony Carey, Derek Sherinian, Jens Johansson and Michael Pinnella.
